Deciding to seek help and choosing a counsellor can be difficult especially if you are already under emotional distress. We hope this website can be informative however please contact us directly if you would like to talk through your questions.
How it works
In counselling the client and psychotherapist sit together in a quiet, confidential room. The client is given the space to talk about whatever feels most important or troubling - this can be events in the week, a difficult relationship, troubling thoughts, or dreams. Listening carefully to what the client says the therapist works to help the client bring their true feelings to the surface, so that they can experience them and understand them.
Therapy can be a long process and can feel frustrating before making headway. Equally, it provides the opportunity for the client to achieve what is most important to them.
Regular Sessions
A session is a weekly 50 minute appointment between the client and psychotherapist at the same time on the same day. The regularity and frequency of appointment is an essential part of the work, so deciding to attend counselling is a commitment. Counselling can last from a few months to a year or longer.
Fees
Sessions are charged at between £50 and £80 per session. We will discuss and agree a mutually workable fee at the first session.
Confidentiality
All information revealed by you will be kept confidential. The practice follows and is bound by the ethical code of conduct of the UKCP, BACP and FPC.
